Whitney Albert, Tori Bates, Becky Browndorf, Georgia Ceanfaglione, Emily Heller, Kylee Hubiak, Sarah Mackey, Carli Mangum, Kaala Puglisi, Jillian Quigley, Shelton Sawers, Janine Suris and Devin Thompson have all signed their National Letters of Intent and will join the Gators for the 2019-2020 academic year.   via UF press release   GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Women's Professional Lacrosse League (WPLL) held its third ever draft on Tuesday night - this time for post-collegiate players – and two former Gators heard their names called. Aniya Flanagan – 2018 graduate – was selected 24th overall by the Baltimore Brave. Lauren Lea – a 2016 graduate – was taken 28th overall by the NY Fight. The 2019 season is set to begin on June 2, with the NY Fight opening up against the New England Command and the Baltimore Brave taking on the Philadelphia Fire. GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Former Gator lacrosse player Shayna Pirreca was named to the U.S. Women's National Team for the Team USA Fall Classic, taking place on Oct. 6 at the US Lacrosse Headquarters. The 27-player roster was announced by U.S. Team Head Coach Jenny Levy on Tuesday and includes 12 of the 18 players that won gold with the 2017 U.S. World Cup team. The U.S. Team will face defending national champions James Madison in an exhibition game on Oct. 6 in Levy's first time coaching Team USA.   via the IWLCA web site   2018 IWLCA Division I Coaches Poll – May 29, 2018   James Madison University (22-1) claimed the number one ranking in the final Division I Coaches Poll of the season, collecting all 25 first-place votes after winning their first NCAA Championship 16-15 over Boston College. The Eagles (22-2) finish the season ranked second and are followed by Maryland (20-2), North Carolina (17-4), and Stony Brook (20-1) to round out the top five. Florida (17-4) and Navy (18-4) finish the season tied for sixth in the poll. Northwestern (15-6) moves up to eighth in the final rankings, Towson (16-5) finishes in ninth, and Princeton (13-6) moves into the top ten. The only new entry to the poll is Richmond, who received votes for the first time this season

  via UF press release   Box Score HARRISONBURG, Va. – The No. 6 Gators ended their historic season on Saturday, falling to the No. 3-seeded James Madison Dukes, 11-8. Florida stormed back from a five goal deficit with three minutes remaining in the game, but couldn't over the deficit to advance to Stony Brook for the NCAA semifinals. This was the first NCAA Quarterfinal Florida has made since 2014, but the fifth overall (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2018). Goals were at a premium in the first half, with both teams only scoring a combined seven goals throughout the first 30 minutes. UF earned its spot in the quarterfinal after defeating No. 15 Colorado on Sunday. The Gators topped the Buffs 13-9 after falling in a 5-0 hole just six minutes into the first half. Florida battled back on an 8-0 run and ended up outscoring Colorado 13-4 for the remainder of the game.
