Mike Loveday does such a great job with LaxRecords.com and this year he has Michael Ward working with him covering the Midwest.  The podcast starts with an interview with Blythewood (S.C.) head coach Jason Cuzzupe about the state of South Carolina lax and I make my appearance starting at the 28:35 mark.  But listen to all of the podcast if you have the time so you can learn about other regions of the country!   LINK TO THE PODCAST

As we rapidly bring 2018 to a close (and to be able to forget briefly the ridiculous volatility in my day job . . . ) here's my Top 10 lacrosse stories in the world of Florida lacrosse for the calendar year.  Please note that I keep the Stoneman Douglas event as a separate item, as that obviously is probably the biggest news story in the state for the year and for those of you who did not previously know I wrote a substantial article about the lacrosse connections to the shootings and their aftermath and here are the links to FLN's and Wells Dusenbury's coverage: InsideLacrosse.com Story: The Healing Game Gets Tested Stoneman Returns Home to a Warm Welcome and a Win – SD 11-4 Over Cardinal Gibbons A Small Step For Lacrosse, A Giant Leap For Regaining Equilibrium Wells’ Article On Stoneman’

Many of you might have noticed that when we moved our server host we lost some of the articles we posted before the move, particularly the Recruit interviews.  Be patient, we are catching up on those that dropped, so if yours is one, we are repeating the posting over the week!  And if you did see it drop and don't see us re-posting by the end of the week, please resubmit it, our apologies! This would be a good time to remind the kids that we look forward to giving EVERY ONE of you that coverage you hard work deserves!  For those who are not familiar with it, we have some Facebook-like features on our site . . . no, we don't sell your data to anyone . . . not that anyone would pay for it anyhow . . . but we do have some ways you can let us know what is going on in the community

Thanks to our readers for your patience as we had quite the time with getting the site up and properly running again! We are making plans to move everything over to a new Administrator/Host Site and that will likely be mostly painless now.  The new approach will require me to learn some new software but it likely will not take much. There's a lot that has happened in the 15 days since I last posted so be patient with us as we get back on track. The Launch are ready to make a playoff run, we still have to finish our All American articles and there's plenty of Florida Club Activity at the national level. But our first article back will be a terrific award given to Ransom Everglades graduate Erin Bakes!  Stay tuned!

Low Attendance paradigms took a beating this weekend. Or as the guy who has a second home about 30 miles north of here might say . . . Low Attendance Lacrosse is FAKE NEWS . . . On Thursday the Launch played a mile away at FAU and the Girls Semis had more fans in the stands (that's not a shot at the Launch, next year we'll coordinate a game at FAU with the Title Weekend and there WILL be a great lacrosse weekend . . . trust me on that one, we'll move heaven and earth to make it happen!) On Saturday it was Eddie Money, Foghat and Blue Oyster Cult two miles away at Mizner Amphitheater. Two Tickets to Paradise turned out to be at Boca Raton High School Slow Ride referred to the lines at the entrance that backed up as the local fans streamed in And we Don't Fear The...

Sorry for the crude, curt headline. But this is RIDICULOUS After a great two years at Jupiter High, the passing of the torch to Boca Raton High has been mangled. Badly. It was bad enough to see FLAG FOOTBALL, a sport that drew a WHOPPING 448 paid spectators last year, included at the same site and the same weekend: FHSAA ATTENDANCE But the schedule of the weekend is now out and it clearly was NOT SET with the lacrosse fan in mind. At Jupiter last year, over 2400 people paid to attend and 2841 were actually in attendance. Palm Beach County STEPPED UP, hosting after the disaster attendance at IMG and the thanks we got for putting much more money in the FHSAA's pockets is this horror show of a schedule:   Schedule: Thursday Girls Semifinals a...
